KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- The country's fatality toll from the influenza A(H1N1) virus remains at 77 with no new deaths recorded since last Friday to Thursday.
Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican, said 192 new patients with influenze-like illness (ILI) were reported and admitted to the hospitals.
He said in a statement here Thursday 150 patients been confirmed to be infected with H1NI virus and 25 were in intensive care unit (ICU).
"Of the 25 patients in the ICU, 23 were in high-risk groups.
"The breakdown of the risk factors are chronic illness (5), chronic respiratory illness (3), obesity (5), children below five years (8), pregnancy (1) and senior citizen (1)," he said.
Dr Mohd Ismail advised those back from Hari Raya holidays to seek treatment if they had ILI.
