PETALING JAYA: The country's fatality toll from the influenza A(H1N1) virus remains at 77 with no new deaths recorded.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said only 15 new patients with influenza-like illness (ILI) were reported and admitted to hospitals for treatment.
He said in a statement here on Sunday that the total number of 604 ILI patients were being treated at 91 hospitals, including 14 private hospitals, of whom 151 had been confirmed to be infected with A(H1N1) virus.
"Out of the confirmed cases, 31 are in the intensive care unit. Twenty-two of them are in the high risk group, such as children, having chronic diseases, obesity, respiratory diseases and are pregnant.
"One confirmed case has recently been discharged from ICU," he said.
