Boy Is 17th Victim Of H1N1 Flu In Singapore

SINGAPORE, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- A six-year-old Chinese boy became the 17th victim of the Influenza A (H1N1) in Singapore when he died at a local hospital Wednesday.

The health ministry said the boy who was also suffering from acute leukemia, died due to H1N1 pneumonia.

The ministry said that currently, 24 people were hospitalised, including six in intensive care units, at several hospitals in the city-state for treatment of the flu.

It added the number of patients seeking help at polyclinics for acute respiratory infection had decreased from 15,720 cases in the third week of last month to 14,296 last week.
