SINGAPORE, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Health Ministry reported on Monday two more flu A/H1N1 related death cases, bringing the number of total flu A/H1N1 related fatalities to 15.
According to a statement by the ministry, the 14th death case is a 53-year-old male Chinese Singaporean with a medical history of diabetes and hypertension. The patient passed away on Saturday. The cause of death was certified as acute myocardial infarction (heart failure) and pneumonia, contributed by flu A/H1N1 infection.
The 15th death case is a 70-year-old female Indian Singaporean with a medical history of ischaemic heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, asthma and stroke. The patient passed away on Sunday. The cause of death was certified as pneumonia, contributed by flu A/H1N1 infection and ischaemic heart disease.
Singapore reported its first confirmed case of flu A/H1N1 on May 27. The country's first A/H1N1 related death case was reported on July 18.
