BANGI, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- The Selangor International Islamic University College (KUIS) has closed its campus in Bandar Seri Putra, here, from August 4 until August 10, following some of its students showing symptoms of influenza-like illness (ILI).
All students, numbering about 6,000, have also been instructed to go home, KUIS Deputy Rector (Academic & Student Development) Mohd Khairi Hussin said in a statement Wednesday.
Mohd Khairi said the decision to temporarily close the college was upon advice by the Ministry of Health.
The infected students as well as those asked to go home are advised to be disciplined and to abide by the quarantine order issued by the Health Department, he said.
The statement also said a total of 80 students of the college have been taken to a nearby hospital for further examinations, and that the number may increase as laboratory tests on samples from students who are sick or showing symptoms of the illness are still in progress.
