No New H1N1 Cases

KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 (Bernama) -- No new Influenza A(H1N1) cases have been reported to hospitals as of 8am on Monday, leaving the number of accumulated cases at 874, comprising 567 import and 307 local transmissions.

"No deaths from Influenza A(H1N1) and cluster Influenza Like Illness (ILI) from H1N1 have also been reported," Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said in a statement here.

He said the lack of new cases did not mean that Influenza A(H1N1) was not spreading among the community.

"The ministry will continue to monitor cases brought to hospitals, including cluster ILI cases.

"At mitigation phase, only serious cases with complications will be brought to hospital for treatment," he added.

Of the 874 positive cases, 862 patients (98.6%) have recovered, seven (0.8%) were under treatment at hospitals while five (0.6%) were being given out-patient treatment.

Liow said to slow down transmission, the public should practice personal hygiene, stay at least one metre away from others and reduce attending public functions.
